In February, members and beneficiaries of the Women’s Academy for Africa met in Gaborone, Botswana. They were joined by youth representatives from each of the member parties to discuss women’s political representation across Africa.
The programme included a review of their work in promoting women’s representation and lessons learnt, acknowledging ongoing challenges women face in politics as well as potential opportunities for future development.
The Women’s Academy for Africa is a regional network that seeks to improve the skills and confidence of women activists from social democratic parties in Africa.
