The Labour Party Women’s Conference Best Practice Visit 2019

A visit for sister party representatives took place alongside Labour Women’s Conference, where the group took part in breakout sessions and training workshops. The Conference itself is an opportunity for women members of the party to participate in policymaking and share ideas with members and politicians from across the UK.

During the conference in Telford, participants heard policy debates and speeches from senior politicians such as the Rt Hon Jeremy Corbyn MP, Leader of the Labour Party, and Dawn Butler MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Women and Equalities.

Two of the participants were invited on ‘The Struggle for Liberation: A global look at the rights for women’ panel discussion, in which they discussed the key issues facing women in their countries, and how the international community can support their struggle for liberation.
