Protecting and Strengthening LGBTI Rights in Western Balkans countries:
A Cornerstone for Progressive Society and Politics.

A conference on protecting and strengthening LGBTI Rights in Western Balkans countries was hosted together with Foundation Max van der Stoel, Center of Modern Skills of Serbia (CMV), Forum of the Left Initiative of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Progress Institute of North Macedonia and the Forum for Progressive Policies of Montenegro. The purpose of the conference was for social democratic parties and organisations from the region to meet to overcome challenges and share best practice on promoting LGBTI rights.

Lord Collins of Highbury spoke at the conference on the importance of political parties working together with civil society organisations to protect and promote LGBTI and human rights. The conference concluded with participants voting on and adopting the text of the Declaration on the Fight for LGBTI Rights. By symbolically signing the declaration, they showed their personal commitment to fighting for human rights.
